We begin by stabilizing the nervous system, then gently reconnecting people to their bodies, emotions, and inner signals. From there, identity and self-trust begin to clarify—and what’s remembered is steadily returned to real life through embodied integration.

Teacher Feedback

I am enjoying the Motion of Gratitude and I am finding it to be so beneficial.  This is a really great program for mental, social, and physical well-being!  I never realized the science behind intentional gratitude and how it produces such a positive shift in our thinking.  The other thing that is so neat, is the concept of breathing! Prior to this program, breathing was an autonomic/involuntary process that we do to live, but not  actually as a tool that can do so much for us when it is intentional and voluntary.  I think this practice, if maintained, can be a huge contribution to longevity, as much as exercise, sleep, getting preventative medical care, and eating all the right foods!

Meet The Founders

The Motion of Gratitude® is led by Shannon & Matthew Missimer—partners in life and in this work.

Before this became a company, it started as a question we were living inside:
Is this all there is—just moving from one responsibility to the next?

Like many families and leaders, we were “doing everything right” on the outside and overwhelmed on the inside. Through learning regulation, presence, and intentional living from the inside out, everything changed—our nervous systems, our leadership, and our family life.

What began as personal survival became a shared calling to help others return to steadiness, clarity, and aliveness.

Shannon is an Integrative Wellbeing Strategist & Integration Coach, guiding nervous-system-informed regulation, emotional resilience, and embodied personal growth across education, leadership, and integrative wellbeing.

Matthew is a Conscious Leadership & Performance Consultant, supporting individuals and organizations in building clarity, resilience, aligned decision-making, and sustainable leadership under real-world pressure. His work bridges vision, discipline, and human-centered performance.

Together, they lead The Motion of Gratitude® as a family-led integrative wellbeing and personal growth company supporting individuals, schools, and organizations.
